Ready for this? Our sake body lotion is finally here to nourish, soften, and comfort your skin all over. As our latest addition to body care, it’s brimming with ingredients that hydrate skin while supporting its natural barrier. Here’s a closer look at what it can do.
Most of the time, body care comes as an afterthought to the face — a notion we’ve started challenging with our scrubbing clay — and as a result, the skin on the body can often become stripped and uncomfortable. Our sake body lotion is here to help! It targets the dryness, tightness, and discomfort often associated with a damaged skin barrier.
Our lightweight, fragrance-free sake body lotion nourishes and comforts skin with a blend of carefully chosen ingredients. The hero is sake, a fermented rice wine from Japan that’s naturally rich in enzymes and prebiotic sugars. Those two components are important: The enzymes provide gentle exfoliation to skin, while the prebiotic sugars help nurture and balance a healthy microbiome. The sake extract we use is created by fermenting rice kernels — and don’t worry, it’s alcohol-free!
Our sake body lotion also contains sunflower seed oil and shea butter to nourish skin. Sunflower seed oil is packed with fatty acids, which can help replenish skin’s moisture barrier, while shea butter moisturizes skin and improves barrier function.
The ingredients all work together to leave skin soft, smooth, and more comfortable — and it works. In a consumer study we conducted, 96% of consumers noted an increase in their overall skin comfort level after using sake body lotion for two weeks (based on a consumer study of 105 participants with self-reported dry skin).
how do I use it?
After showering, massage onto clean, dry skin all over the body. Its exfoliating enzymes are so gentle that it can be used after body scrubs or other exfoliating enzymes, and it’s safe for everyday use. We don’t recommend using it on your face; try one of our dedicated face moisturizers instead!
